This app has been designed to help you discover cafes & restaurants on your travels that not only meet special dietary needs like gluten free or vegan, but also inspire through the creative use of organic, biodynamic & local produce. HippyLuxe has been created by Lorna Garden who has over 30 years experience as a nutritionist & sports dietitian. She has a passion for fit food whole, fresh, sustainably sourced food that nourishes, inspires & energises to create a healthy body and mind. Our team discovers those places that do hippy food in a luxe way. They include things like local & organic/biodynamic produce, have kitchen gardens, use microgreens, herbs & florals for beautiful presentation, create raw desserts & cakes that make you never want to eat processed sweets again, and put love and passion into every supersmoothie, cold pressed juice, creative salad, nut cheese, and raw pizza they make. Put simply, we love fit, healthy organic & inspiring food and we include places that do this well, and are venues where we would happily dine when in the area. If we haven t visited the caf or restaurant yet ourselves, we ll tell you what we do know about it at this time. We've also in the process of including organic supermarkets, delis and grocers where you can find your pantry staples like fresh fruit & vegetables, cereals, gluten free grains & breads, dairy & alternatives, and healthy snack foods. When you're on the road, sometimes a grocer has everything you need to keep the trip healthy - organic grapes to snack on, your favourite tea bags for a hot cuppa, gluten free crackers with cashew cheese ... you get the idea! Our filters will help you find places that have a particular focus on organic, vegan, raw and/or gluten free menu's. Note that 'all organic' doesn't mean 100% certified organic, however indicates cafes & restaurants that are committed to using produce that is grown with an organic intention - on farms that don't use pesticides, herbicides & other potentially harmful chemicals or are in transition to becoming certified organic. HippyLuxe is a continually growing app, starting with the east coast of Australia (and a few other special bonus places) and eventually the entire country. Let us know if you have a favourite place that needs to be shared on HippyLuxe and we ll review it as soon as we can. In the meantime, keep refreshing as more great healthy eating places are added all the time.
